LEARNING SPECIALIST 

Sunny Hollow Montessori is seeking a Learning Specialist to work with students, teachers and parents of children starting in September 2019. The Learning Specialist will act as a resource to teachers, guide faculty in identifying, implementing and evaluating classroom interventions, provide a variety of strategies and interventions to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, organize and conduct tri- annual screening, identify the need for further assessment and services, and coordinate with parents and the public schools on Special Education services and Individualized Education Plans.

A successful candidate has knowledge and skill in a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), including benchmarking, progress monitoring, academic and social-emotional interventions, consultation, and the Special Education referral and service process. Moreover, the Learning Specialist will be responsible for managing a caseload of students for direct service, as well as coordinating service for a variety of learners throughout the school. Excellent communication skills are required for effective and efficient service delivery. A commitment to equity and access to high quality education for all is a must.

Sunny Hollow Montessori serves children 16 months through 8t​h ​grade. The school is located on Mississippi River Boulevard in St. Paul, one block south of Randolph.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Desired Skills: Advanced degree in school psychology, special education, literacy, reading, psychology or social work, and extensive experience working with diverse learners required. Experience with Montessori education is preferred.

CLASSROOM SUPPORT

Sunny Hollow Montessori is seeking candidates to fill multiple positions (both full and part-time) working with children ages 16 months-6 years old. These positions support the teachers in general classroom operations, material making, and works with children in the Extended Day program.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm

2019/20 school year

Salary: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour, depending on experience

Desired skills: Early childhood education training and experience required. Strong organizational and classroom management skills, ability to multitask, and self-initiative required. Material-making skills, including computer and sewing skills, or a willingness to learn needed. First Aid and CPR training required. Must be able to lift
50 lbs. Training or experience in Montessori a classroom preferred.
