Founding Junior High Teacher

Sunny Hollow Montessori seeks a passionate and creative individual to help develop and implement our Junior High program for 7th and 8th graders. Our program aims to be a unique and authentic urban Montessori Adolescent Program that draws upon community resources and the Mississippi River itself.

An ideal candidate would have:

  • a Bachelor’s Degree
  • a demonstrated specialty in the math/sciences; preferably environmental sciences
  • an ability and confidence to develop and teach an interdisciplinary and project-based curriculum in all areas
  • demonstrated experience working with adolescents in a school setting
  • montessori training and/or a willingness to acquire Montessori training at the adolescent level
  • a passion and enthusiasm for nature and the outdoors
  • a desire to help students reach out into their community in order to gain support from and to serve within it
  • enthusiasm for collaboration, research, planning and implementing a program that suits the special needs and characteristics of the adolescent within and in partnership with our community

Casa Float Staff

Sunny Hollow Montessori is seeking candidates who enjoy working with children ages 3-6 years old in a Montessori classroom. This position supports the children and staff during lunch, recess and nap and follows the children as they enter the Extended Day program.

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Immediate start date.

SALARY: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour depending on experience

DESIRED SKILLS: Strong organizational and classroom management skills, ability to multitask, and self-initiative required. Material making skills, including computer and sewing skills, preferred.

Early childhood education experience required. Training or experience in Montessori primary classroom preferred.
